Clément Thoby is an illustrator based in Paris. Clément started his career as a decorator and animation director, but his passion for color led him to become an illustrator. The landscapes shown in his work include not only the places he himself traveled to but also the scenes of his experiences through his imagination. Clément's delicate expression using colored pencils conveys the atmosphere and emotion of the situation beyond the representation of visual perception. Lines of various colors that intersect innumerably hold intense emotion as if burning. However, the lines that do not go beyond their own scope complete a beautiful scene harmonizing with each other.
클레멩 토비는 파리에서 활동하고 있는 일러스트레이터입니다. 클레멩은 데코레이터와 애니메이션 디렉터로 커리어를 시작하였지만 색에 대한 열정으로 인해 전업 일러스트레이터의 길로 들어서게 되었습니다. 그의 작업이 보여주는 풍경은 자신이 직접 여행한 곳은 물론, 상상을 통한 경험의 장면까지 포함합니다. 색연필을 사용한 클레멩만의 섬세한 표현법이 시지각의 재현을 넘어 상황이 지니는 분위기와 정서를 전달합니다. 수없이 교차되는 다양한 색깔의 선들은 불타듯 강렬한 정서를 품습니다. 그러나 스스로의 범위를 넘어서지 않는 선들은 곁에 놓인 서로를 침범하지 않은 채 어우러지며 하나의 아름다운 장면을 완성해냅니다.
